1. General Website Use
1.1 No Attorney-Client Relationship
Use of this Site, calling our office as invited on our Contact page, or any general communication with the Firm through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Peters & Nye LLP. An attorney-client relationship is formed only through a signed engagement agreement or as otherwise expressly agreed in writing by the Firm.
1.2 No Legal Advice
The content on this Site is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. You should not act or refrain from acting based on information contained on this Site without seeking independent legal counsel regarding your specific circumstances.
1.3 Confidentiality Notice
Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information to the Firm by phone, email, or text message until an attorney-client relationship has been formally established. As noted on our Contact page: contacting our office does not create an attorney-client relationship, and confidential or time-sensitive matter details should not be conveyed until formal engagement terms are established. Information shared before such a relationship is formed may not be treated as privileged or confidential.
1.4 Intellectual Property
All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, and design, is the property of Peters & Nye LLP or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our prior written consent.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
1.7 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
1.8 Attorney Advertising Notice
This website and its contents may be considered attorney advertising under the rules of certain jurisdictions. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Unless otherwise specified in an individual attorney’s biography, attorneys listed on this Site are not certified by any state board of legal specialization, as the Illinois Supreme Court does not recognize attorney certification in specific practice areas. 2. SMS / Text Messaging Terms
This section governs all text/SMS communications between you and Peters & Nye LLP.
2.1 Program Description and Sender Identity
Text messaging communications are sent by Peters & Nye LLP, a boutique law firm practicing in corporate insurance coverage and commercial litigation. This is not a marketing or promotional text messaging program. The Firm does not conduct outbound marketing SMS campaigns and does not send unsolicited text messages.
2.2 How Messaging Consent Is Obtained
Peters & Nye LLP does not operate a website contact form and does not collect mobile phone numbers or any other personal information through the Site. Our Contact page instead invites visitors to call our office directly. Text messaging occurs only on a one-to-one, conversational, and administrative basis with:
- Existing clients;
- Opposing counsel;
- Vendors; and
- Prospective clients,
in each case where the individual has initiated contact by calling or texting the Firm’s office phone number(s) directly, or has otherwise provided their mobile number directly to the Firm in connection with client engagement correspondence (e.g., an intake form or engagement letter). By providing your mobile number to the Firm in one of these ways, or by texting our office number first, you consent to receive text messages from the Firm related to your matter as described below.
2.3 Types of Messages You May Receive
Messages sent under this program are strictly administrative and case-related, and may include:
- Case status updates;
- Meeting and consultation coordination;
- Appointment reminders; and
- Administrative notifications related to your matter.
No marketing, advertising, or promotional messages will be sent under this program.
2.4 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on engagement and matter requirements. You may receive more messages during active phases of a matter and fewer or none during periods of inactivity.
2.5 Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Charges are determined by your mobile carrier and wireless plan. Peters & Nye LLP is not responsible for any fees charged by your mobile carrier.
2.6 Opt-Out Instructions
You may cancel text messaging at any time. Reply STOP to cancel/unsubscribe from further text messages. After you send “STOP,” we will confirm your opt-out via a final text message and will not send further texts to that number unless you subsequently opt back in or initiate new contact.
2.7 Help/Support Instructions
For assistance, reply HELP for help, or contact the Firm directly at:
- Phone: 847-423-0350
- Email: connerpeters@petersnye.com
2.8 Supported Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. This messaging program is intended for use on major U.S. wireless carriers. Coverage and message delivery may vary by carrier and are not guaranteed.
2.9 Privacy
Your mobile information collected in connection with this text messaging program is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including the express commitment that no mobile information or text messaging opt-in data will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
